Tibetan
Medicine
Tibetan Medicine is a unique
system of medicine where spirituality and healing are
intimately linked. With a truly holistic system of diagnosis
based not only the examination of the patient, it may
include the interpretation of dreams as well as position of
heavenly bodies as well. The master Tibetan physician heals
with herbs, precious pills, rituals, meditation and other
therapeutic techniques. The ultimate goal of Tibetan
medicine is not only to restore the body and mind to a state
of health and internal balance but to pure the physical and
mental self of impurities and defilements which obscure
one's true human nature/
His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Tibetan Medicine: " It is a
system that can contribute substantially to maintaining a
healthy mind and body. It is deeply influenced by theory
which stresses the indivisible interdependence of mind, body
and vitality. As an integrated system of healthcare, Tibetan
medicine has served the Tibetan people well for many
centuries and I believe it can still provide much benefit to
humanity at large"
