Fertility
Meridian’s Fertility Program is nationally recognized and is
directed by Dr. Raymond Chang and Dr. Jin Yu of Shanghai.
Meridian is the currently the most experienced clinic in the
US working with infertility and IVF patients and has treated
hundreds of patients successfully. It is Dr. Chang of the
Meridian program together with Dr. Zev Rosenwaks and Pak
Chung of the
Cornell IVF program who published the widely quoted
landmark review on the
Role of Acupuncture in the Treatment of Female Infertility
in 2003 ( also see
Cornell News). Dr. Chang is currently in collaboration
with Dr. James Grifo of the
NYU IVF
program in a clinical trial on acupuncture and IVF and Dr.
Chang’s success with acupuncture has appeared in News and
documentary on TV and he has also been extensively
interviewed by Fox News, Reuters,
WebMD, Resolve,
Prevention, Health, and
A TIME (click under Chanuka 5763/2002 for

download of article) for the pioneering work with
acupuncture for infertility.
Ferrtility is natural conception of life. Infertility
is not a disease but results from deranged fertility, by
environmental, social and psychological stress as well as
disease. Meridian offers an evidence-based complementary
fertility program that emphasizes the use of traditional
acupuncture and personalized Chinese herbal formulae to
enhance fertility for both women and men. Our program can
work together with the major fertility treatment / IVF
centers in the Tri-State area including the Cornell and New
York University programs to give a couple an optimal chance
for conception and successful pregnancy.
Indications for our complementary approach partially
include:
 |
premature ovarian failure
|
 |
luteal phase defect
|
 |
unexplained infertility (by conventional medicine)
|
 |
unexplained IVF failure
|
 |
failed implantation
|
 |
intolerance to IVF
|
 |
male factor (low sperm count, low motility)
|
Unless there is an anatomical problem causing the
infertility, e.g. blocked tubes, the benefits of a natural
fertility program of Traditional Chinese Medicine and
Acupuncture over IVF include:
 |
non-invasiveness of herbs/acupuncture
|
 |
no side-effects
|
 |
no ethical dilemmas
|
 |
lower cost
